Braunston Dry Dock

Braunston's 18th century dry docks sit across the original line of the 1774 Oxford Canal, where the Grand Junction Canal joined it in 1805 to create a more direct line between London and the Midlands. When the Oxford Canal was modernised and straightened in the 1820's the old junction was bypassed and became a boatyard where canal boats have been built and maintained for over 200 years.
