Stourport Basin
£25.00
Stourport, where the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal meets the River Severn, is a fascinating example of a 'canal town', possibly the only town in Britain to have developed solely as a consequence of the canal boom. It has five interlinked basins, sets of broad and narrow locks down to the river and a fascinating collection of historic buildings including warehouses, dry dock and the magnificent Tontine Hotel. An award winning heritage project has revitalised the area, restoring many buildings and reopening the infilled Lichfield Basin.
