Water tumbles in a lock as the paddles are opened. IApart from the skewed perspective (an idea I was playing around with) I think it obvious that the most interesting part was the patterns made by the water. When a lock is opened the two paddles on each side can create this sort of bubbling effect. To me it has a magic carpet appeal.
